# FindHimHere

> FindHimHere is one place to find churches in New York. Live first in the Capital Region and Hudson Valley, growing across the ten New York regions. The homepage shows counts, denominations, and featured churches. Browse defaults to the Capital Region. Near-you is miles, not region. Every church shows its denomination, service times, and contact info up front and links out to the church's own site.

## What FindHimHere is
- A directory of churches, not a church. FindHimHere does not run services, take bookings, collect donations, or endorse any church or denomination.
- Every listing links out to the church's own page. Visitors confirm the denomination, service times, and address directly with the church.
- FindHimHere never labels a church best, recommended, or vetted, and never ranks churches by who pays.
- Coverage: New York, by the ten Empire State Development regions. Live first in the Capital Region (`capital-region`). Other regions fill in over time.
- Homepage hero, denomination tiles, and featured churches reflect the live directory. Browse defaults to the Capital Region. Near-you is miles, not region.
- Denominations: Catholic, Episcopal/Anglican, Methodist, Baptist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Reformed, Orthodox, Pentecostal, Evangelical, Congregational/UCC, Non-denominational, Adventist, Latter-day Saints, Jehovah's Witnesses, Quaker, Unitarian Universalist, and Other Christian.

## Data for agents
- **Open search API (GET, no key, CORS on):** `https://www.findhimhere.com/search?q=…&town=…&region=…&denom=…&limit=…`
  - Examples: `/search?q=grace&town=albany` · `/search?denom=baptist&region=capital-region` · `/search?id=our-lady-of-the-assumption-catholic-church` · `/search?list=towns`
  - OpenAPI 3.1 spec: https://www.findhimhere.com/openapi.json (also /.well-known/openapi.json). Works as a ChatGPT Action / custom tool as-is.
- This file: https://www.findhimhere.com/llms.txt
- Full church index (one line per church, for retrieval): https://www.findhimhere.com/llms-full.txt
- MCP server (search the directory as a tool): https://www.findhimhere.com/mcp - add it as a remote MCP connector in any client (Claude, ChatGPT, Grok). Tools: search_churches, get_church, list_towns, list_regions, list_denominations.
- Listings feed (JSON): https://www.findhimhere.com/data/churches.json
- Smaller JSON shards (same records): https://www.findhimhere.com/data/index.json lists them — per region `/data/regions/{id}.json`, per town `/data/towns/{town_slug}.json`, per denomination `/data/denominations/{slug}.json`.
- Sitemap: https://www.findhimhere.com/sitemap.xml
- The feed is an object: `generated_at`, `default_region`, `regions`, `count`, `by_denomination`, and `listings` (an array). Use `count` for the current total - the number of churches changes as the directory grows.
- `regions` is a map of region id → `{ name, count }`. Parent-facing names, A–Z: Capital Region, Central New York, Finger Lakes, Hudson Valley, Long Island, Mohawk Valley, New York City, North Country, Southern Tier, Western New York. Hudson Valley is stored as `mid-hudson`.
- Each church in `listings` has these fields. Any field may be empty (empty string or empty array); empty means not listed, never guessed.
  - Identity: `id`, `name`, `legal_name`, `aka` (array of alternative names).
  - Location: `address`, `zip`, `town`, `town_main`, `town_slug`, `county`, `region`, `region_name`, `lat`, `lng`.
  - Classification: `denomination` (a key), `tradition` (broad family), `church_type` (parish, chapel, cathedral, mission…).
  - Leadership: `pastor` (primary), `clergy` (array of additional clergy).
  - Schedule (kept separate on purpose — a church may have services but no office): `services` (worship/service times), `office_hours`, `building_access`, `languages` (service languages).
  - Contact: `phone`, `email`, `url` (the church's website), `facebook`, `instagram`, `youtube`.
  - Description: `about`, `history`, `mission`, `beliefs`, `details` (array of extra facts).
  - Community: `ministries` (array), `food_pantry`.
  - Media: `photo` (cover, hotlinked from the church's own site), `logo`, `photos` (gallery; items are a URL or `{url, kind, alt}` where kind is `exterior` or `interior`).
  - Metadata: `source`, `verified` (empty = scraped, `claimed`, or `verified`), `updated`, `detail` (the path to the church's own page).
- A church's own page is https://www.findhimhere.com{detail} (for example /churches/ny/{town_slug}/{id}/); a town's page is https://www.findhimhere.com/churches/ny/{town_slug}/.
- Each church page carries schema.org JSON-LD (BreadcrumbList plus a `Church` entity) with phone, street address, and coordinates when known.
- The feed and the MCP endpoint send `Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *`, so browser-based agents can read them.
- Facts and a link only. Service times, addresses, pastors, and phone numbers are never invented; a missing field is left blank (empty string) or an empty array.
