What to include in a notice

Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512), a valid notice must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you say was infringed.
  • The URL or enough detail to let us find the infringing material on FindHimHere.
  • Your name, address, phone number, and email.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

How we respond

When we receive a valid notice, we remove or disable the material and make a good-faith effort to tell the person who posted it.

Counter-notice

If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. It should identify the material and its location before removal, include your contact details and signature, and include a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed in error, along with your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district.

Repeat infringers

We may remove content and suspend accounts of anyone who repeatedly infringes copyright.
